We didn't book a table but when we arrived the owner couldn't have been more welcoming. This was a brilliant experience for the two of us as a spur of the moment decision on Saturday turned out to be an amazing meal with excellent service. Along with that it was a happy atmosphere and we will book again asap and take the family. A definite 5plus.

My partner and I went for dinner this evening and had the best time. My partner had the fillet steak and I had the prawn skewer special. We also had the starter sharing platter and the pudding platter. Everything was lovely! What really made our evening was our lovely waiter. I believe his name was Dan, so nice and a big smile on his face! He recommended dishes and had such a passion for the pub that made us love it even more!We are locals to the pub, but will now be making sure we go on the evenings that Dan is working! Such a breath of fresh air and made our evening so special!Thankyou for giving us such a perfect evening!Emma & Jason :) x

Managed to book a table for 22 on Saturday morning for Sunday afternoon. Not many places that could or would take a group that size. Staff were great, really friendly and served our meals within a respectable time. Food was lovely too. Definitely would go again.

The food was great and the place itself was decent, however the service did feel a little rushed. This might have been due to the fact it was a boxing day set meal, although they could have given more time between each set meal and understand that not everyone eats at the same pace. There is a wide array of drinks however they do lack on their largers and drafts but I feel as if the bar is directed towards gin. Also the staff are nice and well presented excluding the odd one or two. To conclude it's a nice pub to go to however try avoiding any festive meals as it can be quite rush.

Was there tonight for a Christmas meal - 3 courses for 23.95. Didn't make the right choice of starter, my seafood tart was half empty but the mushrooms seemed to be a real hit with others & looked very good. The Pork Belly I had was good but the short rib of beef had by others was apparently very fatty. The puddings were mostly nice though Bakewell was reportedly dry.
